Abbas closes incubators, labs; and unclean flour bags in a macaroni factory

Mr. Sa’eed Abbas, the Governor of Menoufia, ordered to close the Incubator Section at the Teachers’ Hospital in Shebin El Koum for violating the Law No. 153 of 2004 concerning the organization of work in private medical facilities. It was found that hazardous medical waste is not separated from the non-hazardous one, infection control policy is not followed, and the nurses were not holding practice licenses.

He also ordered to close Omega Lab and Enaya Lab in Shebin Al-Koum City. The first was closed as big quantities of expired chemicals were found, there was no autoclave or a room for the microbiology lab, and the labels were inadequate. The latter was closed for the lack of license. In the city of Ashmoon, an incubator center was closed as it has no technical manager which a violation to the 153/2004 law.

On the other hand, the Committee formed by the Food Control Bureau in Sadat City, found on an inspection visit to a pasta factory and food industries in the second industrial zone in Sadat City large quantity of flour inside the company's main warehouse. By inspection, insects and rodent residues were found beside on the flour bags. The total amount was 277 tons.
